With the election seven and a half weeks away, Obama may be calibrating his attacks so he doesn't seem too nasty too soon; McCain is already being looked at as a dishonest attack dog by the press, an impression that will build with time.

My guess is no matter what either side does, we have a very close result on election day, decided by the electoral college math.
