Hunting from aircraft is illegal except in the case of predator control, so it's a non-issue. If and when it is practiced, it is called poaching. Legal and ethical hunting is a fundamental exercise in being human, and in terms the rest of the animal kingdom can understand, a predator. It connects one to his or her roots, and is a much more honorable way of acquiring meat than going to McDonald's where the killing is done for you. People who get their meat from McDonald's-like sources have lost touch with one of the most elemental urges in life, and it is sad indeed to my way of thinking. The hunted has a chance to escape. That is the essence of the ethical hunt, and what makes it worth doing. True hunters do not rejoice at the death of an animal they pursued. They rejoice at the life of that animal, and of the roll it and they play in the grand symphony of life itself. I like what Kahlil Gibran said about eating meat: And let your board stand an altar on which the pure and the innocent of forest and plain are sacrificed for that which is purer and still more innocent in man.
