After studying other religions and noting the many similarities, I began to see God as an entity that has and may still be transmitting his messages to all mankind. Throughout history different people picked up on it, tried to decipher or discern the messages, formulate it into a cohesive philosophy, etc, etc. The problem is that man, being imperfect, would add to or take away or distort for his own purposes until the final thing, the religion, didn't fully reflect God's will. Another thing, some atheist writers try to deny the existence of God on the basis of a long list of supposed religious wars. In reality with some exceptions, wars have always been waged for purposes of expansion or the grabbing of natural resources.....same story, over and over throughout history.
