That was only the first test of the Large Hadron Collider the other day. They sent a beam of protons one way around the track. The real interesting stuff will start happening when they have two beams going in opposite directions. Then they protons will collide with energy levels approaching those of the first moments after the Big Bang.

Won't happen for several months yet. Lots more testing to do. No need to start watching the floor yet. ;-)
