It's the 'you can't criticize him because he's a war vet' argument. We've seen it over and over again.

He is still clearly out of touch with America, and out of touch with the problems of today. He's one of a group from the Vietnam era who seem to want to go back and refight that war, and try to prove the 'hippies' wrong...
