It isn't just that she didn't know what the Bush Doctrine was (and her answer of "His world view" showed that it wasn't because she knew of more than one Bush Doctrine, but because she simply hadn't heard the term and hadn't really thought about it). It was that her answers showed that she hadn't thought about what was going on the world other than the world is a dangerous place with people who are "hellbent" on destroying us (as she said twice in that interview).

She isn't a thoughtful person. That wouldn't matter so much if it weren't the case that this is a dangerous world with plenty of pitfalls and traps awaiting the next administration. I don't doubt that she can be charming to many Americans. I also don't doubt for a second though that she would be a disaster if McCain wins this election and something happened to him. Of course, they might always pull an Agnew and get her to appoint someone serious as VP, then have her resign. Or pull a Wilson, and just have someone else effectively do the job until the next election came along.
