The key is to maximize your chances of winning...If you don't win, nothing else matters...JFK chose a running mate who had great experience in Washington and could deliver some important electoral votes...JFK and Johnson never had a lot of chemistry. I understand why Obama chose Biden (who is very qualified). Yet, I think he could have structured a successful working relationship with Hillary too. It was a judgement call - and within 50 days we'll see how things play out.
