FOWLER FAMILY CONTINUES MENAGERIE OF MUDSLINGING Less than two weeks after her husband was caught on video laughing about the possibility of a devastating hurricane hitting New Orleans, South Carolina Democratic Party Chairwoman Carol Fowler has followed suit with a similarly tactless comment about Republican Vice Presidential nominee Sarah Palin. There’s no video this time, but The Politco’s Jonathan Martin reports that Fowler told a colleague of his that Palin’s “primary qualification seems to be that she hasn’t had an abortion.” Yes, the official head of the state Democratic Party — a superdelegate for Democrat Barack Obama — arrogantly assaulted Palin, a mother of five who bravely gave birth to a son with Down syndrome despite knowing the difficulties ahead of time, for NOT having an abortion. I don’t know what the hell is wrong with the Fowler family and the Democrats in this state who allow these morons to speak for them, but this is one of the most absolutely sickening personal attacks I’ve seen on Palin yet — and there have been A LOT of them. South Carolina Republican Party Chairman Katon Dawson called on Fowler to issue an apology to Palin. “Carol Fowler’s statement is offensive, outrageous and - most importantly – dead wrong,” said Dawson. “Fowler’s statement is born out of desperation from a campaign that is sputtering across the South. Fowler and Obama are eager to smear – not ready to lead.” I agree with Dawson. If Fowler has any class whatsoever, she will apologize for the attacks immediately and, taking it a step further, resign her post as party chair.palmettoscoop.com
