Lawyers have the advantage of knowing how to legally nuance government and the public is critical of lawyers knowing how to legally nuance government.

Now - why is being a lawyer a qualification for president?

No disrespect to my attorney friends, I think being a lawyer is a hurdle that candidates should have to overcome before being considered for public office. In other words, instead of preventing attorneys from running they should go through additional vetting. Such vetting should be a history of practical experience outside of the legal field.

Now we have two attorneys running against two non-attorneys, and I think there is no question as to the superior choice.
