I did the same thing on my Ford diesel garden tractor....ran it about 50 yards and it died....called the dealer and was told to drain the tank flush the open the injectors....crank new fuel through then tighten back up and fire it up.

worked like a charm.....didn't do any damage as he said it didn't run long enough....I don't know the difference between that and a truck engine...but I'm not wanting to try it twice.

Yup! I had a horrible experience in Italy when I rented a car. The hoses at the gas station fit all cars, unlike in the U.S. And I put the wrong kind of fuel in the car.

Made it about 10 miles before the car stalled out! :-)

Duh...call me knucklehead. I felt like a fool....

Deisel cars in Europe are so quiet, you can't tell the difference. That's my only defense...
