It's simply untrue that Alaska produces anything close to 20 percent of the U.S. "energy supply," a term that is generally defined as energy consumed.

Huh? Why would the word supply refer to consumption rather than production? That’s preposterous.

Regarding the discrepancies mentioned in the article you posted, I don’t have an explanation and I don’t know what the actual figures are. However, the gaffe cited above makes me question the validity of the source.
