Agreed! It certainly makes us wonder what in the heck Congress has been doing all this time......Overseeing, my eye! And why are the CEO's of failing banks/financial institutions still able to take such large golden parachutes with them? Congress has been trying to gather votes for so many years, that probably even pets could get loans with no money down....IDIOTS gave this their approval. There will be books written about these months, for sure. I just can't imagine how President Bush continues to be able to stand up to all the problems he has faced during his last 7 plus years. Taking office with a huge economic problem from the previous few years, then 9-11 and all that aftermath, then Massive weather related disaster, people with little or no insurance needing help, insurance companies going under because of the disasters.... the Iraq war to keep the terrorists THERE not HERE....the Afghanistan War dealing with terrain, and all the politics and fiefdoms/tribal units of that area of the world to say nothing of a resort area for terrorists in the worst mountains in the world....and oh, so many other things. Including this large and possibly consuming financial mess. I can't wait until he writes his memoires of this time..
