Is there any wonder given comments such as this that they hate us for milking their oil fields? If we make no effort to understand their concerns and their worries in their land - we will never win this war. Give me a break. If it weren't for us paying them big dollars for their oil they'd still be living as nomads, not that it's a bad life. I believe a great deal of effort has been expended in trying to work with Islamic nations. Some of them are just stuck in the 11th century and this is the 21st.

Dear MMOOSE All you have to do is walk in a deer's shoes.... I think that post by Steve says it all. They were not over here in our country. We were in theirs. They did not have any negative intentions to take our assets and did not occupy any of our land. Turn that around. Were we in their land. Did we have a reason for being there ? Terrorists were created by us. They bloomed when we were in their Muslim land as they have always thought of us as infidels. They became terrorists when they saw we would not leave. They used the weapons they had at the time to bomb embassy's and ships. The the brilliant scheme for 9/11 Which by the way we should have thwarted with cooperation between FBI and CIA and other governmental agencies who all had information about the possibility but no communication amongst them. And what happened. We went over there in full force. Now we will not win their hearts or minds. We just have to look at the other guy's position. We may hate them for 9/11 as I do as it was a dastardly and cowardly act. So I am NOT saying they are right. I am just saying try to walk in an other's shoes...or hoofs as it may be.
