Worse, she took those photos, photo shopped them so McCain has blood running out of his mouth and worse, and posted them.

I do. It's a deliberately unflattering picture, taken in a bright, hard, cold, white light to show up all the imperfections of age. And the contrast has been upped to make McCain's skin look plasticky.

Normally photographers taking portrait shots will warm up and filter the light to present a more flattering picture, so that every wrinkle doesn't have its own shadow. They will lower the contrast so that transitions from light to dark look smoother. This makes everybody look younger.

Heck, you can expect that much from any professional photographer, even the one taking baby pictures at Sears. Compare the magazine cover photos of Obama to reporter's campaign trail pictures, and you will see what I mean.
