My guess is that if I looked back in the 80's, I would have found similar stories about creationism almost being taught in schools. They are pretty much at the same spot twenty years later. Hmmm, just did a search and found this law passed in Arkansas in 1981 which required creationism to be taught on an equal footing with evolution. It was thrown out by the courts in 1982. antievolution.org No doubt that the evangelicals will continue to put up a fight, but I'm not sure that I expect any more progress for them in the next 25 years than they have made in the last 25 years.
