I had to smile at that. Lots of things are not nearly as intense to me now as when I was 14. Snow's not as deep, driving isn't as much fun, and the girls don't make me as nervous as when I was 14. <G>

Good story, MM. Sounds like you were a very focused young man. Hard to imagine the way things were back in the 60s, when two young kids could walk into a store and buy what Dirty Harry called "the most powerful handgun on earth," and nobody thought much about it. If a couple youngsters tried that today, the SWAT would be called out, and the parents would be in jail before the end of the day. Not to mention your neighborhood being picketed by PETA for selling those pelts.
