As long as it's satire. That's what Hustler argued, that no one could seriously believe that Folwell would brag about having sex with his mother in an outhouse. Public figures still can sue if they can prove a lie caused harm and was told knowingly and maliciously. Pretty high standard though.

Authoring disgusting "satire" can however be detrimental to your political aspirations as funny boy is finding out in his run for the Senate in Mn.
