I may eventually make a small foray into the beat up Chinese markets. Or not.

I still hold a middling size position in SRS, the real estate double short ETF. I am holding it longer than I did SKF for I believe that the ripple effect on RE from the recent chaos will be felt just as hard in RE but will take a bit longer. The ripple should reach shore as a profitable tsunami.

Where to from here? What to buy?

I don't know, Mq, though silver certainly seems mercilessly beat up and therefore oversold. Some of the miners get both gold and silver out of their holdings at a relatively low cost. Hecla Mining, which I hold, is an example and it has been clobbered.

The yields on US Treasuries are being bid down as more and more money goes into them and that is very surprising given the Everest of debt that has piled up recently. The dollar as a safe haven, hmmm, a very counterintuitive way to see things but many are seeing it that way. Perhaps foreign central banks are shoring up the dolorous dollar in order to shore up their own assets.

Who knows.

Though we bloviate a lot, in reality we see little. I feel like a nearly blind man navigating a mine field, trying desperately to see tiny clues and patterns which will keep me from stepping on a mine.
