does not seem to happen to women as much, or is it just their under representation in science?

when given the opportunity they have been equals going back to Pythagoras' time with Theano. Often the under representation is merely a function of Patriarchy I think.

To take a recent example Watson-Crick don't crack the code without Rosalind Franklin's data - a great travesty IMHO
