Better get into stocks if that's the case.

That moral hazard stuff is real nice talk... sadly people essentially act as dictated by their environment... just like any organism. If rules are lax and credit easy... THEY BORROW. If speculation is the current environment, banks SPECULATE!

Deregulation declared speculation is good, it's a normal course of events (which of course to some extent it is)... in fact IF YOUR NOT speculating, you're falling behind everyone else. Greenspan provided the wood and Phil threw gas on the fire and lit the match... Wall street roasted all the pension funds and retirement accounts of the working folks...

"Equities for the Long run"- yea... great... till it's not.
