As for CEO pay that's between the CEO and his shareholders, not something that should be set from DC, and importantly not a measurable or significant factor in the current credit and financial situation.

True but its another example of corporate excess that effects the well being of corporate life which, in turn, effects the US.

>>> Holding the line on more federal bailouts sounds like a good idea to me.

The amounts of money being poured into these bailouts is staggering. It is just partisan nonsense to blame Bush for it. BUT, one does wonder what these guys know that we don't that they are so willing to prop these businesses up with 100s of billions.

I'm not sure if it is the right thing to do or not. It is superficial to ever utter a word about CEO pay in this context; the amounts of these items is literally immaterial.

I do not have a good feeling about what is coming a few weeks or even months ahead. These bailouts are happening just a little too easily -- it just doesn't look right.

I think our economy can handle these failures. But I don't think it can handle a president Obama, and I fear that could be the outcome. Just a few days ago I opined that Obama would have a difficult time in 50 days making the "Its the economy, stupid" case -- I think the last couple of days have given him a very definite leg up in doing so.
