I think you're bang on Claude.Its the classic case of keeping inflation expectations in check to keep the party going.When prices are exploding in gold,commodities and most 'things' its from years before of true money supply growth and very little money supply growth at the time.When prices are falling like now the true money supply is exploding setting up the next round of out of control prices in the years to come.
