I'm debating whether or not shareholders will take a hit in a Fed plan for AIG. I'm thinking the Fed may categorize/rationalize the loan as an extension of their recently revised Primary Dealer Credit Facility, assuming the loan will be backed by the highest quality assets AIG has to offer. I'm guessing the loan will be extended at rates above Fed Funds and with a short expiration.
