No, we've been led to believe all along that Quadbit was going to replace dualbit and be the star product of the company.
Now, we learn that it's a dud.
In other words they kept that information quite, to keep the stock prices up.

Here's what the official release in 2007 says:

Basically says that quadbit will be used for mass data storage. Mentions nothing about only 10 write cycles.

Still says nothing about 10 write cycle limit.
