I looked up the glycemic index of rice, because I like it and have been eating more to consolidate my digestion (icky topic).

Now I'm confused. Rice appears to be high and is on the list of less desireable foods at the same site that cites the following:

How to switch to a low GI diet

*

Breakfast cereals based on wheat bran, barley and oats
*

"Grainy" breads made with whole seeds
*

Pasta and rice in place of potatoes
*

Vinegar and lemon juice dressings

I have to gain weight. I weighed in yesterday at 118 lbs. with shoes on ..at the Dr.'s office.

IBS is the culprit I suspect.

However I have to watch acid foods vs. Alkaline foods and was surprised to find that rice is an acid food.

Once I took Ensure and Boost when I was at this weight but
prefer to eat foods that might give me some pounds..

I don't eat many carbs... stay away from all pre-prepared foods and eat a lot of protein.

By the way that turkey chili sounds good.

Thank for info.

So, there is no such thing as good wheat? Even the South Beach Living Pizza's?
