Which makes me wonder what all the hoopla is about at GM... The Japanese makers have been cautious on lithium ion battery technology recently, and who cares about saving $1500 a year if you are going to pay $30,000 over an equivalent gas powered vehicle that gets high 30's mpg on the highway. The base price of a Corvette is currently lower than projections for the Volt. This does nothing as far as 'saving GM' in the short and intermediate term, and will most likely cost them a boatload of cash they really don't have (well, maybe they will, since the Feds are handing over 80B to AIG, what's another 50B for the automakers <ggg>)...

Regards,
John
