Ah.. I see.. letter of credit was unspecified and in the church's name.. Ok.. nothing "wrong" there.

It's up to the church's supervisors if they wish to spend that kind of money to build him a home. It sounds like the house is owned by the church so it's an internal matter.

And I hadn't realized his church congregation was that large.

To be fair, many of these "mega-pastors" live very well. Joel Osteen is quite wealthy and his home matches that status.

And as I mentioned.. Robert Tilton was certainly raking in the $$$$ as well..

Makes me a bit cynical about organized religion if they are asking the middle class to sacrifice to support their lifestyle.
