AIG??? Futures have gone wild with short term volatility.
That always precedes a market crash, but ... the reverse
statement is incorrect, it does not mean the crash will happen.
Crashes are rare. The Fed has no money left (apart from
their back room machine), so we are on watch for that
possibility. The operation someone undertook in currencies
must have drained their account completely - if you believe
such things exist, of course. <G>
