But my 'conservative side' is freaking out with the US government becoming a major player in both the mortgage market and the insurance market. Those who profess to fear 'socialism' over nit picking little regulatory issues ought to be howling... what you are watching is a nationalization of a significant percentage of the financial markets.

I am not happy about it but these are desperate times. I am hoping that in a year or two when things settle down, these businesses will be sold off to the private sector.

Ugh! Bush is the gift that keeps on giving.

I think it will set Obama up perfectly to make AIG the single-payer for our national health care system, since it will have already been socialized by the Bush administration! THANKS, W!
