Re: "I don't question Krauthammer. He is an honest man, and very intelligent to boot."

I was just asking what you meant when you posted this:

"Now I find out..it was something the press made up...not Pres. Bush!"
Message 24952345

(Since your post didn't mention 'Krauthammer'... or anyone other then Bush I had absolutely no idea what you were trying to say.)

Now that you have answered, are you trying to say that 'somebody in the Press' 'made-up' something about the "Bush Doctrine"??????????????????

(Because what I wrote about the Bush Doctrine was taken from the many, many speeches and White House Press Conferences given after 9-11, and before and after the invasion of Afghanistan --- when the WH team talked about it *a lot* to the public. All taken from the comments made by WH officials....)

Now, I have no doubt that Krauthammer made-up the phrase to begin with, if he says so, (and he says he was talking about Bush policy with regard to the Anti-Ballistic Missile Treaty...) but the WH did not ADOPT the phrase for THEMSELVES until after 9-11.

When they gave it a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT MEANING (that had nothing to do with ABM).

Since it's called the "Bush Doctrine" I guess that BUSH himself gets the final word on what it MEANS --- not anyone else.

(If Krauthammer wants to name something the "Krauthammer Doctrine" I suppose that he could be the final arbiter for what that means.... But, withdrawing from the ABM really has nothing to do with the definition the WH used --- the legal JUSTIFICATION for WAR against Afghanistan, because Afghanistan was harboring and supporting terrorists that attacked us. So on this one, I have to give President Bush the final word on what his "Doctrine" means --- not anyone else. Not some journalist. )
