< The only change Obama wants to promote is socialist programs that have already failed abysmally wherever they've been tried.>

Everything in the universe is a "system"... systems occilate. The 60's say TOO MUCH socialism and government rerouting of income. WHY? Because people woke up to the unfairness of the system to African Americans in the past. People did their best, but went too far. The ensuing chapter was a rebalancing... which became a "mantra" and overshot in the other direction. To MUCH deregulation and lies told to support it. For example "free trade will raise EVERYONES income"... yea, everyone on the planet (my area of study was int'l econ)... NOT everyone in the US. In fact altough I'm essentially a 'free trader' as a 'global citizen' NO ONE was upfront as to what it would mean for those competing with overseas labor. Although I don't like the man... PAT BUCHANAN was right. Free trade = decreased share of the pie to American workers and an increased share for stockholders. Further this coupled the financial deregulation by definiton meant a wildly increasing income differential between high and low income people in this country.

So now we'ver WAY overshot to the other side. Why? Because this system puts American citizens at odds with the deregulation/completely free trade mantra crowd. THAT IS GOOD FOR EQUITY... NOT LABOR. Americans are workers too!

So let me ask you this.... if we go into a serious depression now... is it because of LIBERAL constrains on the capitalist system??? Or is because of unfettered capitalism spiraling out of control??

I know what's going to happen... it's the latter above... but WHO EVER get's in is going to reinstitute 'more socialist' policies BECAUSE THEY HAVE TO... when unemployment skyrockets what you gonna do? Then it'll start ALL over again, another cycle.

Long story short, the answer ISNT 'which dogma' is correct... it's the opposite! Neither... and you don't want to let either one rule. The longer this drags on the WORSE things will be. This recession will be MUCH worse for instance BECAUSE the republicans (including wishy washy Clinton) let things run wild SO LONG!
