Are you talking about the repeal of the Glass-Steagal Act?

Greenspan and the Fed had pretty much taken ALL the bite out of it BEFORE it was repealed anyway and it was a Republican Congress that repealed it.

The regulators were STILL supposed to be keeping an eye on things, but that ended COMPLETELY during the Bush Administration.
