Looks like the gold slammers had one more artillery shell... that RTC-like "solution" sure beat the yeller metal down hard late in the session...

Just when we're ready to yell: "The king (PPT) is dead!" we have to immediately respond: "Long live the king!"

This was a very weird day...

Jim

I find yesterdays explosive, record breaking move up in gold, a prelude to today's announcement. Seems Paulson has been working on this deal for over a year now and just made public today.

I believe the mother of all suck in's for 2008 occurred yesterday in gold shares... enough to give the big bozy an easy and profitable exit.

Would not surprise me to see gold see pressure resume as we move close to the election.

The Saudi's need McCain in the WH.. and have been vocal about it. They will use there huge SWF to make the picture as rosy as possible for the next 6 week.. They have trillions at their disposal... and will use it..They have been for a while now.

Can they do it? Time will tell. But the volumes on many of the miners this week sure looks interesting.

LI more money gonna be printed.. ST/IT gold could take a back seat for a while as the meltdown get another reprieve...
