Well... you are correct of course!

(I wasn't paying enough attention --- I just remember hearing the words of the WH Press Secretary at the daily briefing yesterday... when she stated that the President had confidence in Cox... and she stated the 'serves at the pleasure of the President' formulation.....)

So... Bush could *ASK* for Cox to resign, but he can't force him to.

(And, of course, neither can McCain. :-)

HERE is one thing you might not know (I just learned it the other day...) the SEC has no statutory authority to bring CRIMINAL charges --- only civil charges and fines.

(That is one piece of law we should certainly change!)
