Oops, I missed this one. "Drain the swamp" was of course a constant refrain from W's true believers on FADG before he got the war of his heart's desire. Iraq was no picnic under Saddam, but in terms of being the "swamp" from which terrorists emerged, it fit that description only in constantly recycled Cheney fantasies. I guess you could argue we had to drain the swamp after we flooded it, but that would take you back to Colin Powell's pottery barn theory.
