<Is this overkill? I think so>

Hell No. Disclose it all in full view.

No more illegal naked shorting. Seriously enforce it this time.

Make the tape indicate a short sale is a short sale when it crosses. Tally it all up daily. Full disclosure. I want to know if 90% of the volume on a stock I own is generated thru short sales. Its my investment, I should have the right to know who is working against it, and how much capital they are using daily to ensure it falls in price.

RtS, I agree >They should bring back the uptick rule.
They should enforce the rules against naked short selling.

Come on now RtS,

Banning short sales is just a little payback for having lobbyist eliminate the uptick rule and having unbridled years of hedge funds abusing the naked short sale rules to raise capital with and then leveradge it against Joe 6 pak.

I say pay back is hell and Mc Cain is right Cox should get fired ASAP !!

He epitomixes corrupt politicians right alomg with all the multiculturist politicos that gave no down mortgage loans to people with bad credit.

This credit crisis is far from a surprise.

Just ask a good conservative banker - he'll tell you what a farce it has been- for years.
