My main point was that you were saying guilt by association. If that were true, then McCain and Palin have similar problems. You wouldn't say that McCain has sympathy for crooks because of his previous association with Keating. You are also saying that Palin, even though her husband was a part of this party, is not a seccesionist. But you are/were willing to make the association between Obama and a communist. That is a home team pass to your side. Just pointing that out.

Having sympathy for communists is also different than embracing their views or having sympathy for their views. Honestly, I would rather doubt that Obama has communistic views.
