Personally I don't think we will find very much oil off of our shores. When you study the geology of these areas there are only a few areas with productive resources worth drilling for.

The very deep water areas like Brazil are going to be much harder to develop than people realize. All of the big, deep water rigs are being used and to build more will take many years and many billions of dollars.

To get a handle on this problem you have to study the history of petroleum production in the world. Drilling on land 60 years ago was dirt cheap compared to drilling in deep water.. In other words.. where did we find oil 60 years go compared to where we find it today?
