Based on early readings of this government panic, I am surprised to watch the USD having gained ground and gold sold steady to flat.

This short selling ban just has to be temporary, since as the market sells off it will eliminate collection of at least some astute investor's tax receipts.

Also note that early Thur on a technical level the spx and ndx flashed a move to the green, this was before the big runup got steam.
