I need to solve this one way or another.

Exactly right. The only person who is going to solve your medical problems is YOU. Nobody else cares as much, 24/7/365. And now, with the Internet, all the info available to mankind is on it. Your doctor can advise you, but none of them can keep up with everything known about stomach problems.

Up to now, medicine was practiced as "Med 1.0." You approached your Doctor, "The Great Oz" on your knees and he told you what to do. Now you can be part of "Med 2.0." You find out everything about your problems on the net, and use your Doctor as a advisor as to which program to follow.

First thing I would probably do is take Prilosec for two weeks just to clear out any unknown acid problem. It is highly unlikely to hurt you, and could help.
