Probably no immediate impact on gold, unless it turns out this is a scam because the gold is gone and that gets revealed. If that were the case and the world knew it . . .

The real issue is the loss of confidence in US creditworthiness. Now that would take gold well beyond $US 1000/oz. And silver, if it came within 1/50th of gold, would do relatively better, coming from 1/69th today. I fully expect to see rapidly decreasing confidence in the US$/credit very soon (7-21 days). I believe it will be unprecedented and utterly, literally stunning.
