This Palin selection was one of the biggest blunders I have ever seen from the Rove right wing political establishment. They had no choice but to choose someone who would bring the Republican base, if for no other reason than congressional seats further down on the ballot. Hillary Clinton was supposed to galvinize the right, but she didn't wind up on the ticket so Rove had to spend the VP slot. Palin is all about maximizing what turnout they can get. TP
