I am well off my lows from mid-week, even for the week, down for the month by a long way and way, way down for the year. But if value investing is going to pay off in 2008, it is only getting started from these recent lows. I can't remember another period where stock prices virtually across the board were so divorced from company performance (except those that have gone BK).

I am hopeful the government confidence supports will bring us back to a more level playing field for stockpicking. We'll see next week.

Paul, generally agree with you, but a few surprising stocks ended down today: KO, MSFT, and YHOO. Why they didn't participate I honestly don't know. Really think the homebuilders don't deserve to be trading up so much though.
