So, why was the road built? Well, as it turns out, the contractor on the project is a resident of Wasilla...

And a friend of the Palins no doubt.

Did you see where they built the damn thing? Probably through virgin forest.......she is the biggest asshole.

We don't know the facts. We don't know when the contract was let, what its cancellation provisions were, or anything else about it. Having been involved with major highway contracts in the past, I can tell you this stuff doesn't happen overnight, and you can't undo a contract overnight.

It may be the cost of cancellation was high enough to make finishing the road the most sensible alternative, particularly in light of their future plans.

If someone wants to go properly research it, fine. But taking human interest stories and trying to turn them into hard news is just more Palin bashing.

And surely you know this.
