I think so, but that's only because I'm holding some Gold futures long positions. I got the old whiplash on Thursday and ended up making a $10 profit on that day from a position opened on Wednesday. I was sitting in a meeting watching it on my Iphone go up to $920 and tank suddenly. Then I get back to my desk and was shocked to see it back to where I started :-0. Friday I got back in long and now am sitting in the green.

re gold, i don't know about monday, but... sooner or later the mood we had on AIG day is going to take hold on a more intermediate basis and gold is going to do a quick moonshot, then stabilize at a much much higher level, at least as measured in u.s. dollars.
i woke up this morning thinking i should tell my cousin alan in arizona that if he ws ever gonna buy some yamana, this woudl be the time.

finance.yahoo.com

if you ever forget can you find AIG day? the day the fed said it would buy AIG?

RS - i think this latest bailout, is the final straw for foreign governments and sovereign wealth funds. The Titanic has been torpedoed, Gilligan is the skipper, the engine is running on fumes, life saving gear was skimped-on because of costs overruns, and sub-standard steel was used for the hull. Ice packs loom, and to make matters worse, dessert today was prepared with tainted milk from China - everyone on board has the trots.

Chinese and American systems of governance is converging.

Not all is that dire for the greenback, only because all balance sheets and economic activity are tied to the dollar behaving well. My guess is we get a few more days of volatility, until the "plan" details are known, then hopefully a little more calm.

Gold up another $200 or so in the next month, followed by a more measured upward trend. My 2 cents - in US currency - so take that for what it is :)
