But, as you have eloquently stated, this is not a political forum. As I have articulated in previous post, JAVA's business model is broken. They had their chance to remain king after the dot-com bust and should have followed Oracles business model. It really is not that hard to copy other peoples ideas! It is very expensive to use an open source model because of the lack of integration between the database, middleware and application layers. The fact that the software is FREE will not overcome the drawbacks. JAVA is trying to emulate Oracles business model by giving away the software and building up a continual maintenance base. The problem is that Oracle will own this space and JAVA will be left with the scraps and become even more irrelevant than they are now. I am afraid you are living in the past. Take a look at Oracles past five year financial statements and the data will prove this point out. JAVA/DELL, JAVA/IBM, JAVA/HPQ are the future of this company. And yet, they continue to handsomely compensate the ponytailed wonder boy. But yes, he is a liberally educated intellectual who worked at McKenzie so he is entitled to his million dollar pay package vs. company performance. Yes, the old boy socialist network is still alive at JAVA and you continue to see it through Jimmy Carter glasses. Fellow Comrade, I wish you and everyone the best and don't forget to purchase an extra sweater for this years winter season. Maybe Putin could purchase the company with his $40 billion stash horde and socialize the company even more by giving the hardware away. . Alydar
