There is no place like it. Twice the size of Texas, less people than the city of San Francisco, and half of them live within 50 miles of Anchorage. If my hands worked in the cold, and if the sun came out every day in the winter, I'd move up there. Everybody should see it before the glaciers melt. pbase.com My daughter and I later took a chopper tour of Wiamea Canyon. I was thinking, "Damn, this looks just like Alaska, except it is missing 7000 feet of rocks and snow."
