Easy for you to say. You are 22 and live in Hawii? That must be tough-lol. Say you are 80 years old and have arthritus or some other chronic illness. You just got off of a long flight and you are tired and you hurt. It is cold and dark outside and the snow is blowing like hell. You do not feel like waiting for a ferry. You just want to get home and out of the weather as quickly as possible. You have to understand this state is huge (over twice as big as Texas) and pristine. And we liberals are hard core environmentalists intent on keeping it that way. In southeast Alaska it is wall to wall forest and mountains. From my house you can walk hundreds of miles through the wildest country you ever saw, and never see a single person, or cabin, or fence, or sign, or any evidence of human habitat. And there is only about 650,000 of us and it is our state. Forgive us if we would like a few simple amenities to make our lives a little easier. And now you want to deny us one road and one bridge even if we pay for it. Maybe you would just like us to leave, so we do not leave footprints on the forest floor-lol.
