I didn't mean what are the consequential differences, as they are obvious. I meant re: what you said about those who use margin. IN each case, I've borrowed $5k toward the purchase of stocks, and in one case it was from the brokerage and in one case it was from Visa. Not literally, but then again, literally. My point is that it doesn't matter in one context who I borrowed the money from.

And, yes, I am aware of the legal difference.

But you made a moral case, so I'm stating this in that context. What is morally different, and why?
