Germans don't like Frankfurt much... not much of the old architecture left... although I found it very nice. Don'tknow much about his trip... it wasn't surprising that people liked him there. 1.) People are really into politics and don't think much (the people I know) of arrogant "ugly Americans" like Bush. 2.) Many Germans tend to go "overboard" (my opinion) to try and do the "right thing" after what happened (Nazi's)... they probably have been too liberal letting immigrants in and letting them on the dole and probably think it would be politically correct for America (who they think of as pretty provincial and probably still quite racist) to elect an African American.
